Stop Using Social Media for Your Business? - The Two Scenarios




I’ve read an article recently, which made a great impression on me.

The article was about a woman who decided to stop using the social media for promoting her business.

She uses only a blog and email marketing. Everything started from her decision on a monthly income – how much money she wants to make per month. Based on that, she concluded that she needs only five clients every month. That was her goal and to reach it, she didn’t really need the social media. She has clients and she gives everything to them so that they can recommend her. Recommendations and word of the mouth – that’s the way she does her business. She still has a blog and an email list but she doesn’t use the social media.

That’s one of the scenarios. And I think everything starts with your vision. In our case - she wants this monthly income and for this monthly income she needs five clients. She is content with that. She doesn’t want anything more.

The second scenario – your goal and mission is to spread your message to as many people as possible. You have this burning desire inside yourself, this calling, this mission. In order to reach as many people as possible, you have to be on many platforms as possible. Because some people use Facebook, others use Twitter, or Instagram. The people’s choices are endless. So what can you do? You can automate all of the process. You can use services like https://hootsuite.com for instance or https://buffer.com

Also, in order people to find you, you need to use cross-posting. For instance, post a link to your blog post and website in the description area of your YouTube video. When people open this link on your website, there is the same video embedded from YouTube. Ultimately, your point is to bring people to your website and specifically to your funnel. That’s the essential thing – you need to have a funnel. And cross-posting so people can find you on the different sites.

These are the two scenarios and nothing is wrong with them. You just choose what you want out of life. Everything starts with your vision, what you want. Like in the first case, the woman wants this particular monthly income and to realize it, she needs five clients every month. She starts with this dream. The other dream is to spread your message to as many people as possible.

First, you need to start with what you want. Your vision is absolutely the most important thing.

Based on that vision, start working backwards and setting goals, like what I have to do monthly, what I have to do weekly and what I have to do daily to reach my vision.
