How to Build an Online Business - Part 1
1. In order to get new ideas, to find your passion (because it is very important that you love your work), to understand how to build a business empire, I suggest that you start with The Millionaire Messenger by Brendon Burchard: http://millionairemessenger.com/index_jam.html
2. After you decide what business you want to go in, the next step is a following. Before everything else, you have to start by building a following. Many people miss this first step and start directly with selling products or services. But it is going to be too difficult to sell them, because you don’t have credibility. People don’t know you, you haven’t built trust and relationship.
Building a following is really essential. It’s the base of the funnel.
For that, you have to offer highly-quality advice or products, a top-notch content for free. Content is the king!
You can do this in many different forms – in a video format (for example YouTube videos – video is the fastest way to build trust and relationship nowadays) or an audio format (podcasts), or in reading (articles, blog posts, e-books), etc. I suggest that you combine all of them. It is good to have multiple free small products in a different form. What’s important, no matter what format you choose, you need to provide value to people’s life on a regular basis, to help them.
After you build a loyal following, then you move to the next step, i.e. offering products for sale. You can survey your fans, asking them questions about their problems, dreams, needs and what kind of product they would love to see from you and eventually buy.
Based on that, you create your offer. It is good to start with a small product to give them a taste. If they like it, they may want to have more advanced stuff from you – your next step in the funnel – advanced courses which are also more expensive. The next in the funnel could be group lessons. At the very top of the funnel, however, has to be coaching and consulting, i.e. work one-on-one. Coaching and consulting is the most expensive, because it offers direct access to you.
You can watch Stefan from Project Life Mastery explaining all of this in his video + more. (I agree with all of what he says, except for the examples he gave relating to dating, but that’s just my opinion)
